State-run Bharat Electronics (BEL) has secured a contract worth Rs 24.6 bn (excluding taxes) from the Ministry of Defence for the supply and services of Ashwini Radars to the Indian Air Force.
As a Navratna Defence Public Sector Undertaking, BEL has collaborated with the Defence Research and Development Organisation (DRDO) to develop these fully indigenous Active Electronically Scanned Array (AESA) radars.
The Ashwini Radars come equipped with integrated Identification Friend or Foe (IFF) systems and electronic scanning capabilities in both azimuth and elevation, enabling 4D surveillance.
These mobile radars are designed with advanced Electronic Counter-Countermeasures (ECCM) capabilities, allowing deployment across diverse terrains while automatically detecting and tracking aerial targets, including fighter jets and slow-moving objects.
With this latest contract, BEL's total order inflow for the current financial year has risen to Rs 170.3 bn.

The company has entered into a non-binding MoU with Siemens Limited, India, to explore joint opportunities in the semi-high-speed and suburban passenger train segments, as well as metro and commuter rail markets.
This collaboration is expected to leverage Siemens' technological expertise and BEML's manufacturing capabilities to support India's growing railway infrastructure.

NTPC Green Shares in Focus today
NTPC Green Energy shares are expected to be in focus on Thursday after its subsidiary, NTPC Renewable Energy Ltd, successfully commissioned the second and final phase of its 105 MW Shajapur Solar Project in Madhya Pradesh.
The company announced in an exchange filing that the remaining 50 MW capacity of Unit-1 at the Shajapur Solar Park has been declared commercially operational, effective from 00:00 hours on March 13, 2025.
The first phase of the project, comprising 55 MW, had already been commissioned and put into commercial operation on 29 November 2024.
With the latest commissioning, the entire 105 MW capacity of the Shajapur Solar Project is now fully operational, reinforcing NTPC Green Energy's commitment to expanding its renewable energy portfolio.
The project contributes to India's clean energy transition, supporting the government's renewable energy targets while strengthening NTPC's position in the solar power segment.
Jubilant Cadista USFDA Clearance
Jubilant Pharmova announced that its subsidiary, Jubilant Cadista Pharmaceuticals Inc., has received an Establishment Inspection Report (EIR) with a Voluntary Action Indicated (VAI) status from the US Food and Drug Administration (USFDA) for its solid oral formulations facility in Salisbury, Maryland.
This follows an inspection conducted by the USFDA in January 2025, with the inspection now officially closed.
However, the facility is not expected to resume manufacturing, as its operations were previously shut down, a decision disclosed by the company on April 18, 2024. Jubilant Cadista received the USFDA's communication regarding the EIR on March 11, 2025, at 09:27 PM IST.
The EIR signifies the FDA's official evaluation of a facility's compliance with Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP). The agency classifies inspections into three categories-No Action Indicated (NAI), Voluntary Action Indicated (VAI), and Official Action Indicated (OAI).
A VAI status suggests that while certain observations were noted, they do not warrant regulatory action. The FDA is expected to release the final EIR within 30 days of the inspection.
