US markets rose on Thursday as Trump pushed for big rate cuts, aiming to ease inflation, while also threatening tariffs on trade partners.

At present, the BSE Sensex is trading 982 points lower, and the NSE Nifty is trading 297 points lower.
Oil India, MCX India, and Torrent Power are among the top gainers today.
Kotak Mahindra, Power Grid Corp, and Adani Ports, on the other hand, are among the top losers today.
The BSE Midcap index is trading 0.1% lower, and the BSE Smallcap index is trading trading1.4% lower.
Sectoral indices are trading negatively today, with stocks in the service sector and energy sector witnessing selling pressure.
The rupee is trading at Rs 85.5 against the US dollar.
Canara Bank Raises Funds Via Bonds
Canara Bank's board has approved raising fund up to Rs 95 bn through debt instruments in FY26.
The bank will raise fund from two types of bonds Rs 60 bn in Tier II bonds and Rs 35 bn in AT1 bonds, pending approvals.
The operating profit and NII of Canara Bank surpassed projections. With the GNPA ratio lowering from 3.34% to 2.94% and the Net NPA ratio dipped from 0.9% to 0.7%, its asset quality also improved.
Canara Bank's net interest income boosted 1.4% to Rs 94.4 bn, while its net profit increased 33% to Rs50.1 bn.
The provision coverage ratio (PCR) of Canara Bank surged from 91.26% in Q3 to 92.70% in Q4. The estimated Rs 26.5 bn in slippage exceeded by Rs 27.1 bn.
Torrent Power Wins 300 MW Wind Project
Torrent Power's subsidiary, Torrent Green Energy has secured a 300 MW wind project from SECI under Wind Tranche-XVIII.
The company will invest around Rs 26.5 billion (bn) in the 300 MW wind power project.
Torrent power received the project award on 11 June 2025 and will execute the 300 MW wind power project at Rs 3.97 per unit, with commissioning expected within 24 months of signing the PPA.
This project will boost Torrent Power's renewable capacity under development to 3.3 GWp, supporting its sustainability goal and India's target of 500 GW non-fossil fuel capacity by 2030.
In Q4 FY25, Torrent Power's net profit surged by 146.3% to ?1,059.6 crore, compared to ?430.2 crore in Q4 FY24.
Growth in distribution businesses and increased contributions from gas-based power plants were the primary sources of the profit increase. Earnings were boosted by gains from the sale of non-current investments and lower tax expenses, including a Rs 6.4 bn deferred tax reversal.
Capri Global Secures Big Capital Boost
Capri Global Capital raises Rs 20 bn through Qualified Institutions Placement (QIP) at Rs 146.5 per share.
The company issued 136.5 million shares to raise Rs 20 bn through QIP.
On June 12, Capri Global Capital's QIP committee approved share distribution and finalised the issue price, getting its first QIP in ten years.
Several investors, including mutual funds, insurance providers, and foreign funds like ICICI Prudential Life Insurance, BlackRock, and Quant Mutual Fund, responded positively to the QIP.
Managing Director of Capri Global added that the QIP is a significant turning point for the business, and the funds will be utilized for strengthening the capital base, driving growth and expansion, as well as making technology investments.
Genus Power Lands GIC Investments Deal
GIC's affiliate, Chiswick Investment is selling a 3.6% stake in Genus Power infrastructure and may sell an additional 2.3%.
With a possible increase of Rs 2.5 bn, the deal's estimated value is Rs 4 bn, or Rs 6.5 bn. At a 6.5% discount, each share being traded for Rs360.
Due to strong demand and effective operations, Genus Power's Q4FY25 profit boosted more than five times to Rs 1.2 bn, and its revenue doubled to Rs 9.3 bn.
With margins increasing from 12.16% to 20.95%, Genus Power's EBITDA increased from Rs 0.5 bn to Rs 1.9 bn, showing improved profitability.
Through its two divisions metering and EPC, Genus Power, a Jaipur-based company, manufactures smart electricity meters and provides power sector services.
With its advanced metering and management services, Genus Power is emerging as a major player in India's electricity market.
