Sensex Today Rallies 595 Points; Nifty Above 25,850
After opening the day higher, the benchmark indices continued their upward momentum, ended the session in green.
Indian equity market indices Sensex and Nifty ended higher, driven by strong gains in IT and auto stocks.
At the closing bell, the BSE Sensex closed higher by 595 points (up 0.7%)
Meanwhile, the NSE Nifty closed 180 points higher (up 0.7%).
Asian Paints, TCS, and Tech Mahindra are among the top gainers today.
Tata Steel, Bharat Elec, and Kotak Mahindra, on the other hand, were among the top losers today.
The GIFT Nifty was trading at 25,956 with 136 points higher at the time of writing.
The BSE MidCap index ended 0.4% higher, and the BSE SmallCap index ended 0.7% higher.
Sectoral indices are trading mixed today, with stocks in the financial services sector and the healthcare sector witnessing selling pressure. Meanwhile, stocks in the services sector and the telecommunications sector witnessed buying.
The rupee is trading at Rs 88.7 against the US$.
Gold prices for the latest contract on MCX are trading 0.3% higher at Rs 124,356 per 14,776 grams.
Meanwhile, silver prices were trading 1.6% higher at Rs 157,062 per 1 kg.
Adani Enterprises Shares Surge After Rights Issue
Adani Enterprises shares came into focus after the company's board approved the terms of the proposed rights issue.
the Adani Enterprises board of directors authorised the issuance of partially paid-up equity shares of the company, each with a face value of Rs 1, for a maximum of Rs 250 billion (bn) through a rights issue.
The company plans to raise Rs 249.3 bn through the rights issue, and 17 November 2025 has been set as the record date. 138.5 million partially paid-up equity shares, each with a face value of Rs 1, will be issued by the company.
The rights equity shares are being offered on a rights basis to eligible equity shareholders in the ratio of 3 rights equity shares for every 25 fully paid-up equity shares held on the record date.
Adani Enterprises announced that shareholders will receive their rights entitlements by November 18, 2025. The rights issue will be open for subscription from 25 November to 10 December 2025, and investors can trade their rights on the market until 5 December 2025.
The company said this move is part of its regular capital management plan. The rights issue aims to strengthen its financial position and support the next stage of growth in its infrastructure and energy transition businesses, while giving existing shareholders a chance to invest more in the company's future.
Biocon Q2 Results
Moving on to the news from healthcare sector, shares of Biocon came into focus after the company reported its Q2 FY26.
The company's consolidated net revenue rose 21.14% to about Rs 43.8 bn, while net sales increased 19.6% to around Rs 42.9 bn in Q2 FY26, compared to Rs 35.9 bn in Q2 FY25.
The company's profit before tax (PBT) grew 74.1% in Q2 FY26, reaching approximately to Rs 1.7 bn.
The company's EBITDA for the quarter stood at around Rs 9.2 bn, marking a 29% increase, while maintaining an EBITDA margin of 21%.
Biopharmaceutical firm Biocon reported a consolidated net profit of about Rs 0.8 bn for the second quarter of FY26, marking a strong recovery from a Rs 0.16 bn loss in the same period last year.
The turnaround was supported by robust growth in the Biosimilars segment, better performance in Generics, and a stable contribution from the CRDMO business.

Tata Power Q2 Results
Moving on to the news form power sector, shares of Tata Power came into focus after the company reported is Q2 FY26 results.
Operating revenue was Rs 157.6 bn, up 3% from Rs 152.4 bn the previous year.
Operational efficiencies and growth in clean energy segments helped the company's EBITDA increase 6% year over year to Rs 40.3 bn from Rs 38.1 bn in Q2FY25.
Tata Power reported a 14% year-on-year increase in its consolidated net profit, which rose to Rs 12.4 bn in the July-September quarter (Q2 FY26) from Rs 10.9 bn year earlier. The growth was supported by steady performance across its power generation, renewable energy, and distribution businesses.
