Sensex Today Trades Higher; Nifty Above 25,800
Asian markets traded higher on Wednesday, following a mixed trade on Wall Street overnight.
US stock market ended mixed on Tuesday, with the Dow Jones Industrial Average posting a record high close on progress toward ending the longest US government shutdown.

At present, the BSE Sensex is trading 477 points higher and the NSE Nifty is trading 102 points higher.
TCS, Infosys, and Tech Mahindra are among the top gainers today.
HUL, Bharat Elec, and Sun Pharma, on the other hand, are among the top losers today.
The BSE Midcap index is trading 0.2% higher, and the BSE Smallcap index is trading 0.5% higher.
Barring the power sector and the FMCG sector, all other sectoral indices are positive today, with stocks in the IT sector and the telecommunication sector witnessing buying.
The rupee is trading at Rs 88.7 against the US dollar.
Tata Power Invests in Bhutan Hydro Project
Tata Power Limited declared that it has put forward a proposal to invest Rs 15.7 billion (bn) to acquire a 40% share in a special purpose vehicle (SPV) that will establish a 1,125 MW hydropower project in Bhutan called Dorjilung.
Tata Power and Druk Green Power Corporation Limited (DGPC) would be responsible for the entire Rs 131 bn cost of the proposed hydropower project.
A shareholder's agreement will be signed between the two organisations to complete the acquisition in one or more territories.
Tata Power said, this project will support the company to accelerate its clean and green energy transition.
The first tranche will be finished in six months, in accordance with the terms and conditions agreed upon by the shareholders.
Torrent Power Q2 Results
Shares of Torrent Power came into focus after the company reported its Q2 FY26 results.
Its operating revenue increased from Rs 71.7 bn in Q2FY25 to Rs 78 bn, a 9.7% year-over-year (Y-o-Y) increase.
The company credited the growth to lower financial costs and a larger contribution from merchant power sales from its gas-based power plants, both of which increased overall comprehensive income.
In Q2FY26, Torrent Power's EBITDA increased by 19% to Rs 15.8 bn, up from Rs 13.3 bn in the same period the previous year. The quarter's EBITDA margin increased from 18.6% in Q2FY25 to 20.1%.
The company reported a consolidated net profit of Rs 7.2 bn in the second quarter of the financial year 2025-26 (Q2FY26).
Torrent Power announced two major updates for the September quarter, a deal to supply power from a new 1,600 MW coal plant in Madhya Pradesh and the launch of its first green hydrogen plant in Gorakhpur, India's largest hydrogen-gas blending project, producing 72 tonnes of hydrogen per year.

Godrej Industries Q2 Results
Shares of Godrej Properties came into focus after the company reported its Q2 FY26 results.
In Q2FY26, the company's operating revenue increased by 5% to Rs 50.3 bn from Rs 48.1 bn in the same quarter the previous year. It rose 13% sequentially from Rs 44.6 bn.
Its overall costs increased by 16%. In the September quarter, it increased 18% sequentially and Rs 56 bn year-over-year (Y-o-Y).
At Rs 62.9 bn, the company's total segment revenue increased 23% year over year from Rs 51.2 bn.
During the period under review, Godrej Agrovet's total income dropped from Rs 24.6 bn to Rs 25.7 bn.
The chemicals company's earnings increased from Rs 8.2 bn to Rs 10.5 bn.
The company reported a consolidated net profit of ?242.47 crore during the second quarter of the financial year 2025-26 (Q2FY26).
