Sensex Today Rallies 520 Points; Nifty Above 25,150

Asian markets traded higher on Wednesday, on optimism over a ceasefire between Israel and Iran.

US stock market ended higher on Tuesday as sentiment improved after a fragile truce between Israel and Iran.

At present, the BSE Sensex is trading 520 points higher, and the NSE Nifty is trading 128 points higher.

Titan Company, Reliance Industries, and HUL are among the top gainers today.

Kotak Mahindra, ICICI Bank, and Axis Bank, on the other hand, are among the top losers today.

The BSE Midcap index is trading 0.6% higher, and the BSE Smallcap index is trading 1.1% higher.

Sectoral indices are trading positively today, with stocks in the media sector and the telecommunication sector witnessing buying.

The rupee is trading at Rs 86.7 against the US dollar.
 

HAL to Deliver Tejas Jets Soon

HAL has promised Indian Air Force that it will deliver 6 Tejas fighter jets by March 2026, despite delays caused by GE Aerospace's late engine supplies.

HAL's chairman addressed concerns about delayed Tejas deliveries, citing CE Aerospace's failure to supply enough engines, with only 1 delivered out of 12 expected in 2023.

The Indian Air Force needs Tejas Mk-1 A jets to strengthen its squadron, currently short of required strength. These jets will replace aging MiG-21 fighters. The government has already ordered 83 Tejas jets and plans to buy 97 more, worth around Rs 1,150 billion (bn).

HAL has secured a Rs 627 bn contract to supply 156 Prachand combat helicopters to the Indian military. Deliveries are expected to start in 2028. These helicopters are designed and developed in India and can operate at high altitude.
 

Hindalco Expands Globally with Acquisition

Hindalco Industries Ltd., the metal division of the Aditya Birla Group, announced on Tuesday, 24 June 2025, that it has acquired a 100% equity stake in AluChem Companies, Inc., a US-based company, for an enterprise value of Rs 10.4 bn. Aditya Holdings LLC, a step-down wholly owned subsidiary of Hindalco, will carry out the deal.

This marks the first entry by an Indian company into the premium alumina segment, expanding Hindalco's presence in high-performance materials used in refractories, ceramics, and advanced manufacturing.

The company boost its presence in North America and grow its speciality alumina business with this acquisition. This business has seen strong double-digit growth and is now a key profit-maker for the company.

Hindalco's speciality alumina is now used in advanced fields like electric vehicles, semiconductors and precision ceramics. This acquisition will help Hindalco innovate and grow, tapping into new and profitable opportunities.

AluChem's acquisition gives Hindalco a strong foothold in North America with 60,000 tonnes of annual capacity across three advanced facilities. AluChem supplies high-quality materials used in advanced applications including precision components and industrial refractories.

PTC Industries Gains After Key Partnership Deal

PTC Industries in spotlight today after its subsidiary, Aerolloy Technologies signed an MoU with Safran Aircraft Engines to make aircraft engine components.

The MoU aims for collaboration on producing components and materials for military aircraft engines.

Aerolloy Technologies make aerospace parts and materials, while Safran Aircraft Engines designs and builds engines for both civilian and military aircraft.

The two companies already work together on commercial LEAP engines.

PTC Industries makes metal parts for crucial applications in industries like defense, oil & gas, LNG, and marine.
 

Bajel Projects Wins Big Substation Order

0n Tuesday, 24 June 2025, Bajel Projects Limited announced that it had won a contract worth between Rs 1 bn and Rs 2bn from a top private energy and power transmission company.

The company will develop two major substations; a 400 kV gas insulated substation (GIS) and a 765 kV air insulated substation (AIS) extension. The project incudes supplying equipment and handing installation, testing and commissioning.

Bajel Project recently won a major power transmission project from PowerGrid Corporation of India Limited worth over Rs 4 bn.
