Britannia Industries Profit Takes a Hit

Britannia Industries shares came in focus after the company reported its Q1 FY26 results.

Revenue from operations rose 3.6% sequentially to Rs 45.3 billion (bn), compared to Rs 43.7 bn in the previous quarter. Revenue increased from Rs 42.5 bn to Rs 46.2 bn on a year-over-year (YoY) basis.

Operating performance suffered, though, as margins dropped to a multi-quarter low of 16.4% and EBITDA dropped from Rs 8 bn in Q4 FY25 to Rs 7.6 bn.

Britannia Industries MD said that the company's strategy to optimize existing outlets, improve store service, and boost efficiency led to 10% sales growth and strong growth in key states and bakery categories.

They also noted that with inflation easing, consumption has picked up in both the urban and rural areas, helping Britannia achieve double-digit growth again.
