Nifty Above 25,000; Tata Steel & Hindalco Top Gainers

Asian markets traded higher on Thursday, following an overnight rally on Wall Street, and amid cooling tensions in the Middle East. Japan's Nikkei 225 index gained 1.32%, while the Topix index rose 0.36%.

US stock market ended mostly higher on Wednesday, led by gains in technology stocks, with the S&P 500 and the Nasdaq notching all-time closing highs.

At present, the BSE Sensex is trading 156 points higher, and the NSE Nifty is trading 52 points higher.

Tata Steel, Hindalco, and Reliance Industries are among the top gainers today.

Titan, Tata Motors, and Maruti Suzuki, on the other hand, are among the top losers today.

The BSE Midcap index is trading 0.3% higher, and the BSE Smallcap index is trading 0.2% higher.

Sectoral Indices are trading mixed today, with stocks in the power sector and the FMCG sector witnessing selling pressure. Meanwhile, stocks in the Metal sector and realty are witnessing buying speer.

The rupee is trading at Rs 88.8 against the US dollar.
 

Coal India & IRCON Ink Rail Deal

State-owned miner Coal India (CIL) announced on Wednesday (October 8, 2025) that it has signed a non-binding memorandum of understanding (MoU) with IRCON International (IRL) to jointly develop rail infrastructure for CIL and its subsidiaries.

The partnership aims to enhance the company's coal evacuation efficiency through improved railway connectivity. Coal India, which contributes nearly 76% of India's total coal output year-to-date till August, had previously signed a similar pact with Konkan Railways in August 2025.

The government has also been emphasising the faster development of rail infrastructure for coal transportation. In a recent meeting on September 19, the Ministry of Coal urged timely completion of critical coal evacuation projects to strengthen supply chain efficiency.
 

PVR Inox Launches Dine-in Cinema

PVR Inox Ltd. has introduced what it calls "India's first luxury dine-in cinema," blending fine dining with the movie-watching experience, the company announced in a press release on Wednesday.

Located at the M5 ECity Mall in Bengaluru, the eight-screen multiplex allows guests to enjoy gourmet food and beverages without leaving their seats. The format is designed to transform cinemas into lifestyle destinations, offering chef-curated meals served in-seat - even for those not watching a movie.

The new concept features nine in-house food and beverage brands, including Crosta for artisanal pizzas and baked goods, Cine Cafe for coffees and light snacks, Dine-In for in-seat gourmet dining, Steamestry for Asian dim sums, and Wokstar for stir-fried street-style dishes.
 

Lupin to Invest in US Facility

Pharma major Lupin announced plans to establish a new manufacturing facility in Coral Springs, Florida, with a total investment of US$ 250 million over five years.

The investment will cover research and development, infrastructure, and capital expenditure.

According to the company's regulatory filing, the facility will have the capacity to manufacture over 25 essential respiratory medicines, including albuterol inhalers for children with asthma.

Lupin stated that the project will strengthen domestic manufacturing in the US, enhance supply chain resilience, and reinforce its global leadership in the respiratory segment. Additionally, the new facility is expected to create more than 200 skilled long-term jobs in Broward County by 2030.
 

CONCOR Announces Interim Dividend

Navratna PSU Container Corporation of India (CONCOR) has informed exchanges that it will hold a board meeting on Tuesday, 11 October 2025, to review its financial performance for the July-September quarter (Q2 FY26) and consider the declaration of an interim dividend for the fiscal year 2025-26.

According to the BSE filing dated 8 October 2025, CONCOR's board will discuss and approve the company's second interim dividend for the year, alongside its quarterly earnings. The move underscores the logistics major's continued focus on rewarding shareholders amid steady operational growth.

However, the company has not yet disclosed details regarding the record date or the exact dividend amount.

Escorts Kubota to Expand Manufacturing

Escorts Kubota Ltd announced plans to invest up to Rs 20 billion by 2031 to expand its manufacturing and research facilities in Haryana, with a focus on the agriculture and construction equipment sectors.

The announcement was made during a meeting between Chairman and Managing Director Nikhil Nanda, Kubota Corporation's Executive Vice President Shingo Hanada, and Haryana Chief Minister Nayab Singh Saini, held at Kubota's plant in Osaka, Japan, the company said in a regulatory filing.

The proposed investment will be utilised to enhance existing production capacity and strengthen R&D infrastructure in Haryana.

Based in Faridabad, Escorts Kubota manufactures tractors, construction machinery, and railway equipment, with Japan's Kubota Corporation holding a controlling stake in the company.
