Typically the investment companies that operate dividend ETFs have done the research to compile the best dividend stocks available. Your average investors can use this as a shortcut when researching dividend stocks, thus saving them time.

We use the Vanguard High Yield Dividend Yield ETF (VYM) in today’s example. Vanguard High Yield Dividend ETF VYM holds $38 billion in assets, with its top 10 dividend stock holdings being:

  1. Johnson & Johnson (JNJ).
  2. JP Morgan (JPM).
  3. Proctor & Gamble (PG).
  4. Verizon Communication (VZ).
  5. Comcast (CMCSA).
  6. Bank Of American (BAC).
  7. Pfizer (PFE).
  8. Walmart (WMT).
  9. AT&T (T).
  10. Intel (INTC).
