Germany's center-left party, the SPD, appears to have narrowly won the country's general election. But this is now just the start of protracted discussions between it, Chancellor Angela Merkel's party, the CDU, and the Greens. It was an unexpectedly tight race and until a new government can be formed, ING's Carsten Brzeski tells us that Mrs Merkel could still be in post until Christmas.
