Gold is now 12 years through its cup and handle pattern and consolidation since the 2011 peak. 2024 will mark the 13th year.
There are a handful of examples of major breakouts from 13 year consolidations. There are three in the S&P 500, one from the Gold price in Paris (during Gold Standard era) and one from spot commodity prices.
