By now you’re probably well aware that the central banks have been setting records for the amount of gold purchased since 2022. A trend that began after Russia was sanctioned, had its assets frozen, and was then subsequently kicked out of the SWIFT system.

But after 2 years, where does that leave the mindset of the central banks? And why have they been turning to gold in particular?
