In this episode, Samantha LaDuc and Hans Albrecht discuss the market’s fragile equilibrium as war risk builds in the Middle East, rate cuts get priced in for September, and the market stays glued to key technical levels.

They warn that while equities have been resilient, liquidity and economic fundamentals are stretched, especially with a ballooning U.S. deficit, stubborn inflation risk, and fiscal dominance putting pressure on yields.

Samantha argues that war escalation and unresolved political risks—like the reconciliation bill and possible government shutdown—could trigger downside volatility, while Hans sees a fading tailwind from flows and suggests tactical protection using put spreads.

They both emphasize that markets are not pricing in enough risk and urge investors to be cautious, especially heading into late summer and Q3 earnings season.
