Shale oil is “an industry that shouldn’t exist.”
These are the words of master short seller Russell Clark.
Clark shies away from publicity and rarely appears on camera. So he isn’t a household name, but his hugely impressive track record is well-known to investment pros. Russell has managed to thrive during the massive stock bull market of the last few years… a bull market that has put many short-sellers out of business.
Today, Clark is targeting shale oil stocks. According to Clark, shale oil companies “never make any money,” and the industry only exists because borrowing costs are so low. He compares U.S. shale today to China’s steel industry in 2012 - just before it crashed.
In a very rare camera appearance, Clark recently sat down with Raoul Pal of Real Vision TV to share his full thoughts on why shale oil stocks are a sell.
