Who Is The Better Investor: Congress Or Warren Buffett?

Currently, U.S. politicians are not broadly prohibited from investing in public companies, even in situations where they may have access to non-public information through their roles. That reality has fueled growing public debate, especially when comparing the investment performance of certain political figures to some of the world’s most respected investors. For example, Nancy Pelosi’s reported stock trading performance has, at times, outpaced that of Warren Buffett and Berkshire Hathaway over the past decade. Meanwhile, a growing number of platforms and trade-tracking services have emerged that allow retail investors to monitor and even replicate the trades of members of Congress and other politicians in an effort to follow their market performance.
