The VIX is close ...
Take a look at today's VIX chart below. It could be at a very important juncture because it closed lower and below its fan line yesterday.
It didn't close lower than the lows of the previous two trading days, but a lower close today would fix that particular issue.
So, keep an eye on the VIX today as that will give us an important clue as to what is happening. (Remember that a lower VIX is a market positive.)
