The iGaming industry is currently seeing an all time high in terms of competitiveness; with emerging trends going to continue define and shake up the industry. In general it is one of the few industries that is willing to accept new technology and employ it in very innovative ways.

The combination of using big data and artificial intelligence within iGaming is allowing the industry to benefit from being able to create improved player experiences, by gaining an understanding of player habits and what they want to see more of within their favourite online games. Many forms of artificial intelligence can be useful in the iGaming industry in particular in gambling, such as AI betting assistants and automated sports traders too. The industry is likely to see a continued and increased use of AI.

At present online gaming providers typically accept several major currencies such as US Dollars, Euros and Pound Sterling. However, we are now seeing an increasing acceptance of cryptocurrencies such as Bitcoin and this is a trend that will continue, with payments able to be processed faster. In addition, the presence of Blockchain technologies underpinning the use of cryptocurrencies makes them very secure and with every transaction being recorded; gives it quite a significant advantage over regular banking options. Due to the anonymous nature of trading with cryptocurrency, increased acceptance could see increased participation in iGaming from those users who want to stay anonymous and can do through the use of cryptocurrency such as Bitcoin.

Virtual Reality and Augmented Reality are very much likely to become huge trends within iGaming, as it becomes embedded into games and the overall gaming environment to create better experiences for players. VR and AR have been a part of the gaming world for a while now but online gaming has yet to really make the best use of them. A big way they could be used is in the online gambling industry, more specifically, within online casino services. It is becoming possible for users to be playing at an online casino and really feel as though they are there in person at a land casino playing blackjack or roulette for example. Therefore we see no reason why the likes of Unibet and other major online casino brands will not be looking to offer at the very least games which utilise these exciting concepts.

When the iGaming industry first began to rise gaming sites were viewed as competition to traditional casinos and bookmakers, however this is not the case anymore. The online channel for casinos and gambling is now extremely important in terms of reaching a whole new set of customers. Online and offline gambling is now increasingly become interlinked and many forms of betting content is available through both channels. Land based establishments will now allow visitors to also interact with online games on their phones, even whilst on site. It is likely that this trend of connecting the online and offline world in gambling and gaming will continue.

Emerging trends and new technologies will continue to improve and disrupt the iGaming industry as well as give rise to new global gaming giants; who will be able to take advantage of the advances in tech and market needs at the right time to provide an amazing experience for players.
