Tomorrow’s Market: What’s Driving The Next Move?

Markets brace for a volatile Wednesday as the Fed’s preferred PCE inflation data drops before the opening bell. Post-market, Micron reports earnings, providing a critical update for the semiconductor sector following its historic run.

There are two items of note for tomorrow (Wednesday). First, an hour before the opening bell, we get the latest PCE numbers (famously the Fed’s favorite made-up-numbers indicator). These tend to be a bore-fest, but it’s considered one of the most important data points of the month. The expected figure is 0.3% because, let’s face it, inflation is like totally 3% or so each year, right? Right??

After the trading day is done, Micron (MU) reports, which is one of the very few important “off cycle” reports, particularly since it’s in the semiconductor space. Micron has had a jaw-dropping couple of decades.
