These 3 Stocks Could Rally After The Fed Decision

Expected Fed rate pauses could spark a rally for Tesla, Meta Platforms and Netflix.

The US Federal Reserve announces its next interest-rate decision on Wednesday at 2 p.m. Eastern, following its two-day policy meeting.

Expectations favour a pause: 94 of 100 economists in Reuters’ latest poll forecast an “unchanged” federal funds target of 3.75% - 4.00%, although all expected a December increase.

For stocks, the opportunity lies in the accompanying message – a less aggressive outlook may ease Treasury yields and revive demand for growth companies.

Tesla (TSLA), Meta Platforms (META), and Netflix (NFLX) stand out as potential beneficiaries in that scenario.

Tesla stock: a pause could ease pressure on affordability

Tesla shares offer a relatively “direct” connection between monetary policy and consumer demand.

Vehicle purchases often depend on financing, making borrowing costs a key part of affordability.

Holding rates steady would avoid another immediate increase in the benchmark rate.

Importantly, reassuring guidance could lower market borrowing costs – potentially improving the economics of auto loans and reducing pressure on Tesla to subsidize financing.

There is also a valuation channel.

Investors assign value to TSLA’s future autonomous-driving and robotics opportunities; lower discount rates can increase the “present value” of those prospective earnings.

Note that Tesla reported $1.53 billion in third-quarter free cash flow, providing a financial cushion.

Still, the bullish Fed scenario requires improving financing conditions – and a pause would leave existing affordability challenges unresolved.

Meta stock: advertising resilience meets a valuation boost

Meta shares could benefit through both advertising expectations and the valuation investors place on the company’s future profits.

The giant posted Q3 revenue of $64.6 billion, up 26% year-over-year.

That provides an operating foundation for a “potential recovery” if investors become more comfortable with the interest-rate outlook.

The economic link runs through advertisers.

If a patient Fed strengthens confidence that consumer spending can remain resilient, businesses may feel more comfortable maintaining their marketing budgets across Facebook and Instagram.

Crucially, falling Treasury yields could make Meta Platforms’ prospective earnings more attractive relative to bonds.

That said, its substantial AI spending remains a complication.

A favourable policy message could ease valuation pressure, but investors will still demand evidence that infrastructure investment can generate adequate returns.

Netflix: lower yields could support a post-earnings recovery

Netflix shares enter the Fed decision with investors weighing profitable growth against a “softer” outlook.

Q3 revenue reached $12.87 billion, while earnings of $0.87 a share exceeded the $0.82 consensus.

However, current-quarter guidance of $13.44 billion fell below analysts’ $13.53 billion estimate.

A reassuring Fed message could help by lowering the return investors demand on future earnings, potentially supporting Netflix’s valuation after its disappointing outlook.

There is an operating argument as well: steadier household finances and business confidence could support subscription retention and advertising demand over time.

For NFLX, the strongest rally setup would combine falling yields with confidence in economic growth.
