The World Is A Dangerous Place

Like the animal world, it is governed by the laws of the jungle: survival of the fittest. Anyone who does not recognize and understand this is naive or uneducated, or both. And yes, they can be forgiven for concentrating on their own day-to-day lives, and trying to raise families and point them in the right direction.[2]

Today, Vladimir Putin is Russia. He was trained as a killer in East Germany (or the DDR); and he has perfected that "art" to stay in power. When he goes, Russia will likely fragment.[3] Israel is run by the butcher Benjamin Netanyahu, who morphed into his ancestors' Nazi oppressors decades ago. He perpetuates war to stay in power. In fact, the Israelis are the most-hated group globally; and the less than 15 million Jews are victims of rising anti-Semitism because of him.[4]

North Korea has Kim Jong Un and his sister Kim Yo Jong, who run things with an "Iron Fist.' China has Xi Jinping, who runs the country with an "Iron Fist" too, similar to what Mao Tse-tung did. Dissidents disappear. And the world is full of other dictators, whose names are not household words.

The United States is hated globally, but it exists because of its power, which was eroding when Comatose Joe Biden was titularly our President. The Brits might be speaking German today if General (and later President) Dwight D. Eisenhower had not authorized the D-Day landings on the beaches of Normandy.

The world is about power, and whomever holds it and dispenses it. This has been true throughout history. The great Alexander reached the pinnacle, and then he was gone. His legacy is too great to be described in a simple, short article like this.[5] But is fair to say that fame is fleeting.

[2] Last night I had a salad at a local eatery; and as I was getting ready to leave, an "elderly" Hispanic couple arrived with a Down syndrome daughter. She clung to the mother and obviously loved her. What will happen to her when the parents die?
