 The munKNEE.com Pure-Play Pot Stock Index collapsed this past week (-1.5%) compared to the previous week (+25.1%) with 17 of the 25 constituents declining, 5 advancing and 3 having No Change in price. 

Index Performance

The Index has companies doing business in a number of different categories and sub-categories based on their primary area of focus in the cannabis industry. These categories are identified below along with those stocks within each category that changed price by 10% or more:

  1. The Vertically Integrated (i.e. Seed-to-Sale) Category went down 1.8%. The category consists of  22 index constituents that grow, process, and sell cannabis and hemp flower and related products.
    1. The Canadian Licensed Producer (LPs) Sub-Category went down 7.5% (up 42.1% the previous week). 3 of the 7 index constituents within the category changed prices by 10% or more, namely: 
      • Organigram (OGI) -31.5% vs.+37.5% the previous week,
      • Aurora (ACB) -27.7% vs. +141.7% the previous week and
      • Tilray (TLRY-20.6% vs. +66.3% the previous week.
    2. The non-hemp U.SMulti-State Operator (MSOs) Sub-Category went up 0.9% vs. +17.3% the previous week. Only 2 of the 13 index constituents changed price by 10% or more, namely:
      •  Acreage - Fixed (ACRDF) +14.8% vs. +31.9% the previous week and 
      • Acreage - Floating (ACRHF) +10.1% vs.+27.0%.the previous week.
    3. The Hemp Seed-to-Sale MSO Sub-Category went up 10.8% vs. +39.0% the previous week but neither of the 2 index constituents in the category changed price by 10% or more.
  2. The Extraction Category went up 2.7% vs. +7.0% the previous week, This category focuses on the extraction of cannabis compounds and their infusion into consumer products, and one of the 2 index constituents within the category changed price by 10% or more, namely, 
    • Valens (VLNCF) +11.8% vs. +11.5% the previous week.
  3. The Consumption Devices Category went down 12.2% vs. +28.0% the previous week. This category has only one index constituent (Greenlane (GNLN) focused on developing and selling personal consumption devices for cannabis consumers, such as vape pens and inhalers.
