The Naivete About Washington Is Mind Boggling

Of course the same thing is true of its alter ego, Hollywood.  Together they constitute "Sodom and Gomorrah."[2]  Many young women who find themselves in either city are "devoured" sexually.  Just ask Harvey Weinstein's victims, or those of Bill Clinton and countless others.

Money and power corrupt; and innocence and naivete are their victims.  Temptations arise with respect to even the most laudatory and devout.  Sooner or later, most succumb or give in.  Only God is perfect in this grand scheme of Life.  Do saints exist?  Perhaps some.

With respect to national fiscal responsibility, do "balanced budgets" ever exist?  Or are they merely pipe dreams?  When "Christmas tree" legislation is being considered by the Congress, most lobbyists get something for their clients.  And yes, our public servants like Nancy Pelosi get very rich, albeit they never worked in the private sector.

And yes too, programs are still on the books and getting funded, some of which were created before World War II.  "Sunset provisions" are rare or nonexistent.  Thus, the merits behind Elon Musk's DOGE efforts are obvious, and long overdue.[3]
