As AI continues to automate parts of the labor force, the medical sector remains one of the strongest areas for long-term growth, with demand for healthcare services projected to rise through 2034. One particularly interesting example is the “radiologist paradox.” Although radiology is often cited as a profession vulnerable to AI disruption, current trends show the opposite: demand for radiologists remains high, and salaries continue to rise as imaging needs expand faster than the available workforce. More broadly, the supply of medical professionals continues to lag behind growing patient demand. As populations age and healthcare utilization increases, this imbalance is likely to widen, creating an even larger gap between available providers and the care patients require.
