
Simply stated, to live in a nice and safe part of the country, you have to be doing exceptionally well in order to afford to buy a house. (Side note: a tiny cottage with no lot about a block from my house just sold for $3 million).

Skyrocketing home prices have created a massive affordability gap, making desirable neighborhoods inaccessible to all but the wealthiest buyers.
