Healthcare is becoming an increasingly significant expense for Americans. Since 2005, the cost of many healthcare services has more than doubled, and in some cases tripled, such as prescription drugs and outpatient care. At the same time, health insurance premiums have also risen sharply. As a result, some individuals are choosing to self-fund medical expenses rather than rely on insurance coverage.
