We're far from being out of the woods yet - that's the clear message from ING's Carsten Brzeski as he assesses the state of the global economy. There are signs of optimism, he says, but he fears things could get very difficult again over the coming months.

We've seen resilience in the global economy this year, and what's happening now may give cause for optimism. But ING's Carsten Brzeski says yes, while there's some truce on trade between the US and China, and interest rate cuts in the States will help, the situation is very fragile. We should cherish this moment, but it's merely a respite before reality starts to bite again.
