More Americans are turning to sports betting.
In 2025, industry revenue approached $17 billion, representing a 23% increase from 2024. The rapid growth reflects how easy and accessible betting has become through online platforms, which continue to attract record numbers of users.
The widespread availability of digital betting, often described as the “democratization” of gambling through apps such as DraftKings (DKNG) and FanDuel (FLUT), is reshaping financial behavior for many Americans. As participation rises, some observers argue that the growing popularity of sports wagering may be pulling attention and capital away from traditional investing.
