Stocks are trading higher across the board at midday, after President Donald Trump's tariffs were dismissed by the Supreme Court, giving relief to companies burdened by higher duty costs. The Dow Jones Industrial Average (DJIA) recovered earlier losses on lower-than-expected economic data and was last seen up triple digits. The S&P 500 Index (SPX) and Nasdaq Composite (IXIC) have both pivoted confidently into the black and are heading for healthy weekly gains.
Elsewhere, gold prices are continuing their record run, last seen 1.7% higher. Wall Street's "fear gauge," the Cboe Volatility Index (VIX), is back below 20 amid a choppy weekly performance, pacing for its first weekly loss since Jan. 9.

Five9 Inc (Nasdaq: FIVN) is seeing an unusual amount of options activity today. So far, over 27,000 calls have made it across the tape -- 40 times the average intraday amount, after the cloud platform reported a fourth-quarter earnings beat. The most popular contract is the July 20 call, with new positions opening at the January 20 call. FIVN shares were last seen up 14.2% at $19.62.
RingCentral Inc (NYSE: RNG) is one of the top performers on the New York Stock Exchange (NYSE) today, following the company's strong fourth quarter results and guidance. RNG is on track to mark its best daily percentage gain on record, with shares last seen up 36.6% to trade at $40.14.
Akamai Technologies (Nasdaq: AKAM) stock is one of worst names on the Nasdaq today, after forecasting increased capital spending in 2026 for the cloud-services company. Shares are sitting not too far from familiar support at the 50-day moving average, last seen down 10% at $98.66.
