Supply Chain Disruptions Are Moving West

The destroying of supply chains in China could before long have a devastating effect on India.

Supply chain disruptions are moving West and it won't be long until US production lines are halted because Chinese parts sourcing is offline. This shock could tilt the worldwide economy into a downturn. It's already become a headache for India. Pankaj Mahindroo, head of the India Cellular and Electronics Association (ICEA), said the destroying of supply chains in China could before long have a devastating effect on India's cell phone production. Mahindroo represents Foxconn, Apple Inc., Micromax Informatics Ltd., and Salcomp India, cautioned the "impact is already visible… If things don't improve soon, production will have to be stopped." Closing Foxconn plants in India would devastate Apple. Apple produces iPhone XR in India. Mohnidroo said if things don't improve in the following couple of weeks, cell phone industrial facilities in India could begin running out of "critical components like printed circuit boards, camera modules, semiconductors, resistors, and capacitors." Even before the supply chain shock, India's economy is decelerating into a financial emergency. Previous Indian Finance Minister Yashwant Sinha cautioned a while back that the nation is in a "very deep crisis" from the "death of demand."
