The much anticipated first US presidential election debate between Donald Trump and Joe Biden descended into chaos as the two candidates hurled insults at one another and repeatedly interrupted each other.

Stock markets fall on Trump-Biden debate chaos

The chaotic debate stunned most commentators as the two argued over the coronavirus pandemic, the Supreme court and each other's families.

Even the moderator, Fox News' Chris Wallace struggled to maintain order as he stated to Trump "Your campaign agreed that both sides would get a two-minute answer," and "I hate to raise my voice, but why shouldn't I be different than the two of you?"

Trump not answering whether he would concede defeat and accept the results of the November election

Unfortunately, not much was discussed about economic policies over the 90 minutes.

The market was not impressed with the Dow Jones 30 stock market index collapsing more than 300 points when Asian markets opened. Global stock indices followed the sour mood as investors weigh up the possibility that Trump may not leave the White House peacefully.
