The company was founded in 2019 and is headquartered in Canonsburg, PA.

Viatris Inc with the ticker (VTRS) provides healthcare and pharmaceutical products.

It provides medicines and treatments in multiple therapeutic areas including cardiovascular, oncology, dermatology, eye care, gastroenterology, immunology, and women's health.

Three key data points gauge VTRS (or any dividend paying entity):

(1) Price

(2) Dividends

(3) Returns

Those three keys also indicate if any company has made, is making, and will make money.

VTRS Price

Viatris Inc’s single share price grew $7.60 (or about 6%) from $9.37 to $16.97 in the past year, per Thursday’s opening market report.

Ten analysts cover the stock. And their consensus suggests the price will grow $0.97 in the coming year. However, the VTRS past thirty year price history shows an average $0.34 annual price gain. I’ll use the $0.97 analyst estimate for VTRS annual return; after I discuss dividends.

VTRS Dividends

Viatris Inc has paid variable quarterly dividends since June 2021. The most recent Q dividend of $0.12 was paid June 17th (to shareholders of record May 22nd, yielding 2.82% annually (per Thursday’s opening market report.)

VTRS Returns

Putting it all together, as of July 23rd, a possible gross gain of $1.41 was projected. The $0.93 per share historic annual gain was added to the $0.48 forward looking annual dividend to make that $1.41 gross gain.

A little over $1000 invested in Viatris Inc at Thursday’s $16.97 opening share price would buy 59 shares which multiply the $1.41 gross gain to $83.09 for the coming year, or about 8.31%.

My dividend dogcatcher rule is to only buy initial shares of a dividend stock that pay an annual dividend (from $1000 invested) that is greater than the cost of one share.

Viatris’s projected annual dividend from $1K invested is $28.20. As VTRS shows an annual dividend from $1,000 invested at a $16.97 price proves to be $11.23 or about 66.18% more than its recent single share price.

The exact track of Viatris’s future share price and dividend will entirely be determined by market action and company finances.

Remember the best way to track stock performance and dividend payments is through direct ownership of company shares.
