The company was founded in 1984 and is headquartered in Provo, UT.
Nu Skin Enterprises (NUS) develops and distributes beauty and wellness solutions around the world.
Three key data points gauge NUS (or any dividend paying entity):
(1) Price
(2) Dividends
(3) Returns
Those three keys also indicate if any company has made, is making, and will make money.
NUS Price
NUS’s single share price dropped $1.11 (or about 15.3%) from $7.26 to $6.15 in the past year, per Wednesday’s morning market report.
One analyst covers the stock. Her one year price target is pegged at $7.50 (or rising $1.35) per YCharts. However, twenty-six years of price history show an average $0.07 annual price gain, which I’ll use to calculate returns after I discuss dividends.
NUS Dividends
Nu Skin has paid quarterly dividends since March, 2001. The most recent Q dividend of $0.06 is payable June 10 (to shareholders on record as of May 29) for an annual amount of $0.24 yielding 4.07% (per Wednesday’s morning market report.}
NUS Returns
Putting it all together, as of May 27, a possible gross gain of $0.31 was projected. The $0.07 per share annual gain was added to the $0.24 forward looking annual dividend.
A little under $1000 invested in NUS at Wednesday’s $6.15 opening share price would buy 163 shares which multiply the $0.31 gross gain to $50.41 for the coming year, or 5.04%.
My dividend dogcatcher rule is to only buy initial shares of a dividend stock that pay an annual dividend (from $1000 invested) that is greater than the cost of one share.
NUS’s projected annual dividend from $1K invested is $40.70. So Nu Skin shows a dividend from $1,000 invested over 6.6 times its $6.15 single share price as of Wednesday morning.
The exact track of NUS’s future share price and dividend will entirely be determined by market action and company finances.
Remember the best way to track stock performance and dividend payments is through direct ownership of company shares.
