Sensex Today Trades Lower; Kotak Mahindra & HCL Tech Top Losers

Indian share markets are trading lower with Sensex trading 141 points lower, and Nifty is trading 16 points lower.

Asian markets traded lower on Monday amid the latest escalation in the US-Iran war.

US stock market ended lower on Friday, dragged down by a steep drop in AI-related chip stocks.

At present, the BSE Sensex is trading 141 points lower, and the NSE Nifty is trading 16 points lower.

Sun Pharma, Trent, Asian Paints among the top gainers today.

Kotak Mahindra, M&M, HCL Tech on the other hand is among the top losers today.

The BSE 150 Midcap index is trading 0.2% lower and the BSE 250 SmallCap index is trading 0.5% lower.

Sectoral indices are trading mixed today with stocks in realty sector and healthcare sector witnessing buying. Meanwhile, stocks in oil & gas sector and auto sector witnessed selling pressure.

The rupee is trading at Rs 94.4 against the US dollar.

Persistent's Biggest Global Expansion Through Nagarro Deal

Persistent Systems has announced plans to buy German digital engineering company Nagarro for €81 per share in cash through its subsidiary, Galaxy Germany Holding.

The offer is much higher than Nagarro's recent market price, showing Persistent's strong interest in the acquisition.

Nagarro's largest shareholder, which owns a 21% stake, has agreed to sell its shares. The company's management has also supported the deal and plans to recommend that shareholders accept the offer.

Once completed, the combined company will have annual revenue of around $2.9 billion, over 46,000 employees, and operations in more than 40 countries.

For Persistent Systems, this acquisition will significantly strengthen its presence in Europe while expanding its AI, cloud, and digital engineering capabilities.

BEML Wins Bigger Middle East Export Order

BEML Ltd. is likely to be in focus after securing an additional export order worth $5.35 million (around Rs 0.46 billion) from the Middle East for supplying heavy earth-moving equipment used in infrastructure projects.

With this order, the total value of the contract has increased to $41.73 million (around Rs 3.59 billion).

The company also said its international order book stood at $112.35 million (around Rs 9.66 billion) as of 25 June 2026.

BEML said its machines are designed for tough operating conditions and meet international quality standards. The company manufactures heavy equipment for the mining, railways, defence, and infrastructure sectors.

Hexaware Expands AI Offering with Claude

Hexaware Technologies has become an Anthropic Authorized Reseller for Amazon Bedrock, allowing it to sell, integrate, and support Claude AI models for enterprise customers worldwide.

The partnership strengthens Hexaware's AI-first strategy by enabling it to provide end-to-end AI services, from model access and customization to implementation and managed support.

For customers, this means easier access to Claude AI models, faster deployment, built-in responsible AI, customized solutions, and a single commercial framework with consolidated billing and support.

Hexaware plans to use Claude across several business applications, including intelligent document processing, compliance automation, customer service, clinical data summarization, supply chain management, and AI-assisted software development.

The company is also expanding its AI capabilities through a dedicated AI Centre of Excellence to support enterprise AI adoption across its global delivery network.
