Sensex Today Trades Lower; HDFC Bank & Infosys Top Losers

Indian share markets are trading lower, with the Sensex trading 273 points lower and the Nifty trading 77 points lower.

Asian markets traded higher on Thursday, led by regional chip stocks.

US stock market ended lower on Wednesday, as investors waited for key earnings reports, while the latest Middle East hostilities raised inflation worries.

At present, the BSE Sensex is trading 273 points lower, and the NSE Nifty is trading 77 points lower.

Eternal, Trent, M&M among the top gainers today.

HDFC Bank, Infosys, Axis Bank, on the other hand, are among the top losers today.

The BSE 150 Midcap index is trading 0.5% lower, and the BSE 250 SmallCap index is trading 0.6% lower.

Baring metal sector, all other sectoral indices are trading negative today, with stocks in the healthcare sector and the realty sector witnessing selling pressure.

The rupee is trading at Rs 96.2 against the US dollar.

IndusInd Bank Q1FY27 Performance

IndusInd Bank reported a consolidated net profit of Rs 10.4 bn for the quarter, up 72% year-on-year and 75% quarter-on-quarter, driven primarily by lower operating expenses and provisions compared with both the previous year and the previous quarter.

Net interest income (NII) rose 1% year-on-year and 7% quarter-on-quarter to Rs 46.9 bn.

Net interest margin (NIM) improved to 3.57%, up from 3.39% in the previous quarter and 3.46% in the corresponding quarter last year.

Dr Reddy's Laboratories Q1 FY27 Performance

Dr. Reddy's Laboratories reported a 5.6% year-on-year decline in revenue to Rs 80.7 bn for the quarter ended June 2026, compared with Rs 85.5 bn in the corresponding quarter last year.

Net profit fell 68.7% year-on-year to Rs 4.4 bn, down from Rs 14.2 bn in the June 2025 quarter.
