
Asian stocks were mixed on Wednesday, October 7, with investors assessing the latest moves on Wall Street, elevated US Treasury yields and geopolitical risks.
Wall Street's benchmark indices extended their gains on Tuesday, October 6, with the S&P 500 hitting a fresh record for the first time since August, while the Nasdaq continued its record-setting streak.

At present, the BSE Sensex is trading 424 points lower, and NSE Nifty is trading 165 points lower.
Bajaj Finance, Bharti Airtel, Eternal are the top gainers today.
Asian Paints, Bharat Elec, Axis Bank on the other hand is among the top losers today.
The BSE 150 Midcap index is trading 0.2% lower and the BSE 250 SmallCap index is trading 0.1% lower.
Baring telecommunication sector all other sectoral indices are trading negative today with stocks in metal sector and banking sector witnesses selling pressure.
The rupee is trading at Rs 96.4 against the US dollar.

JSW Cement Strengthens North India Capacity
JSW Cement, one of India's leading green cement producers and part of the JSW Group, has commissioned an additional 1.00 MTPA cement grinding unit at Nagaur, Rajasthan, marking another milestone in its expansion strategy.
The commissioning takes JSW Cement's total cement grinding capacity to 25.10 MTPA, while its overall clinker manufacturing capacity, including its joint venture JSW Cement FZC, stands at 9.74 MTPA.
The company began operations in North India in March 2026 with its Nagaur Integrated Plant, featuring 3.30 MTPA clinkerisation and 2.50 MTPA cement grinding capacity. Following the latest expansion, the plant's grinding capacity has increased to 3.50 MTPA, strengthening JSW Cement's ability to meet rising demand across Rajasthan, Haryana, Punjab and the NCR.
The expansion has been financed through a strategic combination of equity and long-term debt. During the quarter ended September 30, 2026, JSW Cement also commissioned an Alternate Fuel Handling System and Waste Heat Recovery System (WHRS) at the Nagaur plant, further supporting operational efficiency and sustainability.
