Sensex Today Trades Higher; Sun Pharma & HCL Tech Top Gainers

The Sensex and Nifty trade higher as Sun Pharma and HCL Tech lead gains.

Asian equities edged higher on Monday, helped by gains in semiconductor stocks as demand related to artificial intelligence continued to support the technology sector.

US stock futures edged higher on Sunday evening after the Dow Jones Industrial Average recorded its third consecutive weekly decline.

At present, the BSE Sensex is trading 176 points higher, and NSE Nifty is trading 59 points higher.

Sun Pharma, HCL Tech, Trent the top gainers today.

Infosys, Bharti Airtel, Power Grid Corp on the other hand is among the top losers today.

The BSE 150 Midcap index is trading 0.1% higher and the BSE 250 SmallCap index is trading 0.2% higher.

Sectoral indices are trading mixed today with stocks in IT sector and telecommunication sector witnesses selling pressure. Meanwhile, stocks in realty sector and metal sector witnesses buying.

The rupee is trading at Rs 95.7 against the US dollar.

Hy-Tech Engineers Q1 FY27 Results

Shares of Hy-Tech Engineers came into focus after the company reported its Q1 FY27 results.

Hy-Tech Engineers reported a 10.8% YoY increase in standalone net profit to Rs 46 million (m) in Q1 FY27, compared with Rs 41.5 m in Q1 FY26.

Revenue rose 12.9% YoY to Rs 412.6 m, from Rs 365.5 m.

Total operating expenditure increased 16.1% YoY to Rs 346 m.

Profit before tax stood at Rs 61.1 m, up 9.3% from Rs 55.9 m in Q1 FY26.

The Board has approved the proposed acquisition of approximately 6.5 acres of land at Jawale, near Shirval, Taluka Khandala, District Satara, for a basic consideration not exceeding Rs 60 m. The land will be used to create additional capacity for the company's Instrumentation Project Engineering (IPE) stainless-steel operations, which have distinct manufacturing and operational requirements and are currently carried out alongside other operations.

Hy-Tech Engineers is an engineering company engaged in the design, manufacturing and supply of hydraulic fittings for diverse industrial applications, with over four decades of experience in the hydraulics industry.


Welspun Enterprises Wins Major Ahmedabad Sewer Orders

Welspun Enterprises, through its material subsidiary Welspun Michigan Engineers Limited (WMEL), has secured two significant sewer rehabilitation projects from Ahmedabad Municipal Corporation (AMC) through Letters of Award dated September 18, 2026.

The two World Bank-funded projects have an aggregate contract value of Rs 3,512.4 m, including GST and excluding provisional sums.

The Western Ahmedabad project, valued at Rs 2,294.8 m, involves the rehabilitation of the main trunk sewer line from Gola Lake to 285 MLD TSPS, covering the stretch from Iskcon Char Rasta to 285 MLD TSPS.

The Eastern Ahmedabad project, valued at Rs 1,217.6 m, involves the rehabilitation of existing sewer lines across key stretches of Eastern Ahmedabad, including Odhav 310 to Panjrapole Char Rasta to Nirant Cross Road to Mahadev Imperial, as well as Metro Pillar No. 99 to Nirant Char Rasta.

These projects are among the larger individual sewer rehabilitation projects currently being undertaken by AMC.

The Western Ahmedabad order is also one of the largest rehabilitation orders secured by WMEL through its standalone bidding capacity, further strengthening Welspun Enterprises' presence in the urban water and wastewater infrastructure sector.
