
Asian markets mostly traded higher on Friday, the last trading session of the week, tracking gains on Wall Street as investors took cues from the upbeat US session following the Federal Reserve's latest rate decision.
US stocks rebounded on Thursday as oil prices edged lower and a Fed rate hike on Wednesday offered some relief that the central bank was working to contain inflation.

At present, the BSE Sensex is trading 176 points higher, and NSE Nifty is trading 59 points higher.
Eternal, Bharti Airtel, HDFC Bank the top gainers today.
TCS, Infosys, Tech Mahindra on the other hand is among the top losers today.
The BSE 150 Midcap index is trading 0.7% higher and the BSE 250 SmallCap index is trading 0.9% higher.
Sectoral indices are trading mixed today with stocks in IT sector and insurance sector witnesses selling pressure. Meanwhile, stocks in realty sector and power sector witnesses buying.
The rupee is trading at Rs 95.7 against the US dollar.
BEL Receives Additional Defence Orders
Bharat Electronics Limited (BEL) has secured additional orders worth Rs 6.48 billion (bn) since its last disclosure on 26 August 2026.
The major orders include Laser-Based IR Jammers, communication equipment, cybersecurity solutions, thermal imagers, transducers, AI-based software solutions, TR modules, upgrades, spares, services, and other related equipment.
Petronet LNG Enters CBG Plant Joint Venture
Petronet LNG Limited, at its Board Meeting held on 17 September 2026, approved a proposal to incorporate a 50:50 joint venture with Gruner Renewable Energy Private Limited as a private limited company.
The proposed joint venture will establish 10 Compressed Bio-Gas (CBG) plants, each with a capacity of 18 MT per day, across the country, with an estimated capital outlay of Rs 12 bn.

PTC India Forms New Green Energy JV
PTC India Limited has incorporated a joint venture company, NIRL PTC Renewables Limited, on 16 September 2026 in India, in partnership with NLC India Renewables Limited.
NLC India Renewables Limited holds a 74% stake, while PTC India Limited holds the remaining 26% stake, comprising 26,000 equity shares.
The company operates in the energy sector and will focus on developing green energy projects and exploring related opportunities.
The incorporation received prior approval from the Department of Investment and Public Asset Management (DIPAM), Ministry of Finance, Government of India.
The shares have been subscribed in cash at a face value of Rs 10 per equity share.
