Sensex Today Trades Higher; Infosys & TCS Top Gainers

Asian equities edged lower on Monday as investors turned their attention to artificial intelligence-related stocks at the start of the week, with Nvidia's earnings and the US Federal Reserve's annual symposium among the key events on the radar.

Stock futures edged lower on Sunday night as investors looked to bounce back from a weak week, which was largely triggered by a sharp rise in Treasury yields.

At present, the BSE Sensex is trading 126 points higher, and the NSE Nifty is trading 27 points higher.

Infosys, HCL Tech, TCS among the top gainers today.

Titan Company, Asian Paints, Bharat Elec, on the other hand, are among the top losers today.

The BSE 150 Midcap index is trading 0.3% higher, and the BSE 250 SmallCap index is trading 0.6% higher.

The rupee is trading at Rs 95.6 against the US dollar.

Y Combinator to Sell Meesho Stake

According to media reports, Meesho shares will be in focus on Monday, August 24, after a block deal was launched in the company.

Y Combinator is set to sell up to a 1.05% stake in Meesho for Rs 9.575 billion, with the floor price fixed at Rs 197.5 per share, representing a discount of up to 4% to the previous close.

Following the transaction, Y Combinator will be subject to a 30-day lock-in for any further share sales. As of the end of the June quarter, promoter entities held 16% of Meesho, while public shareholders accounted for 84% of the company.

NTPC REL Secures SECI Power Supply Contract

NTPC Renewable Energy Limited (NTPC REL), a wholly owned subsidiary of NTPC Green Energy Limited, has emerged as the successful bidder in the e-reverse auction conducted by SECI for the selection of renewable energy power developers for assured peak supply of 6,000 MWh (1,500 MW x 4 hours) from ISTS-connected renewable energy projects in India under tariff-based competitive bidding (SECI-FDRE-IX).

Under the terms of the RfS, NTPC REL has secured a contracted capacity of 500 MW at a discovered tariff of Rs 6.00/kWh.
