Sensex Today Trades Higher; Asian Paints & Bharti Airtel Top Gainers

Indian share markets are trading higher with Sensex trading 127 points higher, and Nifty is trading 41 points higher.

The Asian stock markets traded broadly higher on Tuesday, extending gains from the previous session amid a steady brent crude level and increased oil exports from West Asia.

Wall Street started the new week on a positive footing on Monday, October 5, as investors shrugged off elevated bond yields and continued to favour artificial intelligence-related stocks.

At present, the BSE Sensex is trading 127 points higher, and NSE Nifty is trading 41 points higher.

Trent, Kotak Mahindra, HCL Tech are the top gainers today.

M&M, Asian Paints, Bharti Airtel on the other hand is among the top losers today.

The BSE 150 Midcap index is trading 0.4% higher and the BSE 250 SmallCap index is trading 0.6% higher.

Sectoral indices are trading mixed today with stocks in auto sector and hospitals sector witnesses selling pressure. Meanwhile, stocks in telecommunication sector and power sector witnessed buying.

The rupee is trading at Rs 96.4 against the US dollar.

Kotak Mahindra Bank Q2 FY27 Results

Shares of Kotak Mahindra Bank came into focus after the company reported its Q2 FY27 results.

Kotak Mahindra Bank reported a 24.7% year-on-year increase in net advances to Rs 5,770 billion (bn) as of September 30, 2026, according to an exchange filing on Monday.

Net advances increased 12.7% quarter-on-quarter, from Rs 5,120 bn as of June 30, 2026. Average net advances stood at Rs 5,470 bn, up 22.1% YoY and 10.5% QoQ.

Total deposits stood at Rs 6,510 bn at the end of September, registering growth of 23.2% YoY and 13.7% QoQ. Average deposits increased 18.8% YoY and 8.5% QoQ to Rs 6,060 bn.

CASA deposits rose 11.3% YoY and 7.8% QoQ to Rs 2,490 bn at the end of September. Average CASA stood at Rs 2,260 bn, up 14.2% YoY and 4.4% QoQ.

The bank said the September 30 balances included FCNR(B) deposits of US$5.78 bn, equivalent to around Rs 553.44 bn, under the Reserve Bank of India's swap facility. Advances of US$1.68 bn, or around Rs 161.10 bn, against these deposits were held by the bank's international branches.

HLE Glascoat Simplifies Group Structure

HLE Glascoat Limited informed that its wholly owned subsidiary, Thaletec GmbH, has transferred its 100% shareholding in HLE Surface Technologies GmbH, a step-down subsidiary, to HLE International S.a r.l., another wholly owned subsidiary, with effect from October 5, 2026.

The transaction is part of an internal group restructuring undertaken to rationalize and simplify the overall group structure. The restructuring is not expected to have any material impact on the underlying business operations or ultimate ownership of the group entities.

There is no benefit to the promoter, promoter group or group companies arising from the proposed restructuring.

The transaction involves the transfer of the entire shareholding of HLE Surface Technologies GmbH from Thaletec GmbH to HLE International S.a r.l., with no change in the ultimate ownership of the entity.
