4 reasons why Indian share markets are falling:
1) Selling in Bank Shares: HDFC Bank shares fell 2% after the bank announced its second-quarter FY27 results. Concerns over lower profit growth and pressure on interest margins affected investor sentiment, pulling the Bank Nifty down by 0.5%.
2) Weak Global Cues: Asian markets traded lower due to concerns about the high spending on artificial intelligence and a busy earnings week ahead. US markets also ended sharply lower on Friday, as technology stocks fell and rising crude oil prices added to investor worries.
3) Higher Crude Prices: Brent crude fell 1.5% to $108.27 per barrel, while WTI crude declined 0.6% to $100.83. However, oil prices remained high due to ongoing geopolitical tensions, keeping concerns about inflation alive.
4) Rise in India VIX: India VIX, which measures market volatility, rose nearly 4% to 14.52. This indicates growing uncertainty and increased caution among investors.
