Maruti Suzuki Q2 FY27 Results
Shares of Maruti Suzuki came into focus after the company reported its Q2 FY27 results.
Maruti Suzuki India Ltd reported a 26.4% year-on-year decline in consolidated net profit to Rs 24.66 billion in Q2 FY27, despite a 26% increase in revenue from operations to Rs 533.56 billion.
The country's largest passenger carmaker achieved record quarterly sales volumes, but profitability was impacted by higher commodity costs linked to the West Asia conflict and mark-to-market losses on invested surplus.
Operating profit (EBIT) declined 17.1% YoY to Rs 28.04 billion in Q2 FY27 from Rs 33.82 billion in Q2 FY26, although it increased 10.8% sequentially compared with the April-June quarter.
The company attributed the year-on-year decline in operating profit primarily to elevated commodity costs, while non-operating income was adversely affected by mark-to-market losses on investments.

Domestic passenger vehicle demand remained strong, with small car sales rising 35.9% and SUV sales surging 68.2%, supported by a favourable response to recently launched models.
The company's domestic passenger vehicle market share increased by 2.2 percentage points. Recent capacity additions helped cater to rising demand; however, supply continued to lag demand, keeping network inventory low at approximately 17 days, while pending bookings stood at around 200,000 vehicles at the end of September.
In international markets, exports declined marginally to 108,119 vehicles from 110,487 vehicles in the corresponding quarter last year, amid challenging geopolitical conditions.
