
Asian stocks declined on Wednesday, September 2, as a sharp rise in oil prices pushed global bond yields higher, fuelling concerns that a fresh wave of inflation could prompt central banks to adopt tighter monetary policies.
US stock futures were little changed on Tuesday night after rising bond yields and oil prices pushed Wall Street lower for another session.

At present, the BSE Sensex is trading 629 points lower, and the NSE Nifty is trading 222 points lower.
Sun Pharma, Kotak Mahindra are the top gainers today.
Eternal, Bharat Elec, and Asian Paints, on the other hand, are among the top losers today.
The BSE 150 Midcap index is trading 1.1% lower, and the BSE 250 SmallCap index is trading 0.8% lower.
Baring energy sector, all other sectoral indices were trading mixed negative with the realty sector and power sector witnessing selling pressure.
The rupee is trading at Rs 94.9 against the US dollar.
Welspun Corp Partners for Jordan Manufacturing Facilities
Welspun Corp Limited, along with Perma-Pipe International Holdings, Inc., has signed an MOU with the developers of Jordan's National Water Carrier Project and the Government of Jordan to advance the development of pipe manufacturing and advanced coating facilities in the country.
The proposed joint venture will establish an integrated pipe manufacturing and coating platform in Jordan, catering to water, oil & gas, energy, and infrastructure projects in Jordan and surrounding markets.
The partnership will combine Welspun's expertise in large-diameter steel pipe manufacturing with Perma-Pipe's capabilities in anti-corrosion coatings, engineered piping solutions, and project execution.
The parties are currently evaluating the project's technical, commercial, financing, and regulatory requirements, including facility design, capacity, coating technologies, and approvals. Details on investment, ownership, capacity, and timelines will be announced once definitive agreements are finalized.
The facility is expected to strengthen regional supply chains, create local value and skilled jobs, and potentially support future infrastructure and reconstruction opportunities across Syria, Lebanon, Iraq, and Gaza, along with regional oil and gas projects linked to the Port of Aqaba.

Sical Logistics Secures Major Coal Mining Contract
Sical Logistics Limited has received a Letter of Acceptance dated September 1, 2026, from Central Coalfields Limited (CCL) for the execution of work involving hiring of Heavy Earth Moving Machinery (HEMM) for overburden (OB) removal and coal extraction at the SDOC Mine, Dhori Area.
The contract involves removal of 201.355 L CuM re-handled OB and 336.533 L CuM hard OB, along with extraction of 91.036 L Te of coal from the diverted 143-hectare patch of lower seams. The project will be executed over a period of five years (1,825 days).
The total contract value stands at Rs 5.34 billion, inclusive of 18% GST. The order was awarded by CCL through a domestic e-tender process.
