Sensex Today Tanks 566 Points; Nifty Below 23,500

Indian share markets are trading lower with Sensex trading 566 points lower, and Nifty is trading 143 points lower.

Asian markets traded mixed on Wednesday, with a rally in chip stocks, despite cautiousness over the elevated crude oil prices on escalating Middle East war.

Stock futures were largely unchanged on Tuesday evening following a weak session, as rising oil prices continued to weigh on investor sentiment.

At present, the BSE Sensex is trading 566 points lower, and NSE Nifty is trading 143 points lower.

NTPC, Tata Steel, Power Grid Corp the top gainers today.

HCL Tech, Tech Mahindra, Infosys on the other hand is among the top losers today.

The BSE 150 Midcap index is trading 0.2% lower and the BSE 250 SmallCap index is trading 0.1% lower.

Sectoral indices are trading mixed today with power sector and metal sector witnessed buying. Meanwhile, stocks in IT sector and auto sector witnesses selling pressure.

The rupee is trading at Rs 94.8 against the US dollar.

Innovision Wins Madhya Pradesh Toll Contract

Innovision shares may remain in focus after it received a new Letter of Award (LoA) from the National Highways Authority of India (NHAI) for collecting toll fees at Pachwara Fee Plaza on NH-39 in Madhya Pradesh.

This comes after Innovision won an Rs 482.5 million (m) NHAI contract last week to collect toll fees at Mangapatnam Fee Plaza on NH-67 in Andhra Pradesh.

Earlier, NHAI had also awarded the company a Rs 303.6 m contract for toll collection at Manambadi Fee Plaza on NH-36 in Tamil Nadu.

Enviro Infra Secures Major Renewable Energy Order

Enviro Infra Engineers has received a Rs 1,899.9 m (excluding GST) from Tata Power Renewable Energy Limited.

The order is for Engineering, Procurement and Construction (EPC) turnkey works for the development of a 180 MW NTPC Wind Power Project at Parli, Maharashtra.

The project includes construction of wind turbine foundations, transmission lines, roads, crane pads and pathways, along with setting up a 39-acre secure storage yard and other related infrastructure works.

The project is a domestic order and is expected to be completed by March 31, 2027.

Enviro Infra Engineers is engaged in the design, construction, operation, and maintenance of water and Waste-Water Treatment Plants (WWTPs) and water supply projects (WSSPs) for government agencies/entities.
