Although the benchmark indices opened lower, they traded negative throughout the session and ultimately closed in the red.
Indian equity benchmark indices, Sensex and Nifty50, ended sharply lower as PSU bank, realty, and auto shares weighed amid heightening tension in West Asia.
At the closing bell, the BSE Sensex closed 561 points lower (down 0.7%)
Meanwhile, the NSE Nifty closed 159 points lower (down 0.6%)
M&M, Kotak Mahindra, ITC, on the other hand, were among the top losers today.
The GIFT Nifty was trading at 24,002, 215 points lower at the time of writing.
The BSE 150 Midcap index is trading 0.5% lower, and the BSE 250 SmallCap index is trading 1.08% lower.
Sectoral indices were trading mixed today, with the metal sector and power sector witnessing buying. Meanwhile, stocks in the financial services sector and banking sector witnessed selling pressure.
The rupee is trading at Rs 96.2 against the US$.
Gold prices for the latest contract on MCX are trading 0.4% higher at Rs 1,40,960 per 10 grams.
Meanwhile, silver prices were trading 1.2% higher at 2,20,403 per 1 kg.
Just Dial Q1 Business Update
Shares of Just Dial came into focus after the company reported its Q1 business update.
Revenue increased 9.9% year-on-year to Rs 3,275 million, marking its fastest sequential revenue growth since the Covid-19 period. Net profit rose 4.1% year-on-year to Rs 1,662 million in Q1FY27.
The company's EBITDA stood at Rs 874 million, with a healthy EBITDA margin of 26.7%. Other income during the quarter increased 3.3% year-on-year and 170.3% quarter-on-quarter to Rs 1,315 million, mainly due to higher gains from treasury investments following a decline in yields.
On the business side, total unique visitors stood at 192.9 million, increasing 5.8% quarter-on-quarter. Mobile platforms contributed the majority of traffic at 86.5%, followed by Desktop/PC at 10.6% and Voice platforms at 2.9%. The company's active listings grew 13% year-on-year to 56.1 million as of June 30, 2026, showing continued expansion of its business network.

Sigma Advanced Systems Expands Through UK Acquisition
Sigma Advanced Systems has announced the acquisition of 100% equity stake in Bromford Precision Solutions, a UK-based specialist manufacturer known for producing high-precision and complex aeroengine rings and other engine components.
The deal is valued at around GBP 11.89 million (approximately Rs 153 crore) and is expected to be completed by the end of July 2026, subject to standard closing conditions.
The acquisition has been made at an enterprise value to adjusted EBITDA multiple of around 4.6x (based on CY2026 estimates), highlighting the company's focus on strategic acquisitions that can create long-term value.
