
Although the benchmark indices opened lower, they traded negatively throughout the session and ultimately closed red.
Indian equity benchmarks indices, Sensex and Nifty50 declined for the second session and ended at the lowest level since mid June as oil prices advanced amid persistent geopolitical tension.
At the closing bell, the BSE Sensex closed 555 points lower (down 0.7%)
Meanwhile, the NSE Nifty closed 144 points lower (down 0.6%)
HUL, Bharat Elec, HCL Tech are the top gainers today.
ICICI Bank, Kotak Mahindra, HDFC Bank the other hand, were among the top losers today.
The GIFT Nifty was trading at 23,712 with 114 points lower at the time of writing.
The BSE 150 Midcap index is trading 0.2% higher and the BSE 250 SmallCap index is trading 0.1% higher.
Sectoral indices were trading mixed today with healthcare sector and services sector witnessed buying. Meanwhile, stocks in banking sector and realty sector witnesses selling pressure.
The rupee is trading at Rs 94.8 against the US$.
Gold prices for the latest contract on MCX are trading at Rs 1,52,822 per 10 grams.
Meanwhile, silver prices were trading 0.2% lower at 2,38,502 per 1 kg.
Bandhan Bank Enters Credit Card Market
Bandhan Bank launched its credit card portfolio in partnership with Mastercard, marking its entry into the credit card segment as the lender seeks to diversify beyond traditional banking products.
The portfolio includes four variants - Sparks, Ignite, Flare and Lumina - designed to cater to different customer groups, including Gen Z, emerging affluent customers, frequent travellers and premium lifestyle consumers.
The bank's MD & CEO, Partha Pratim Sengupta, described the launch as an important milestone in Bandhan Bank's journey towards becoming a universal bank.

Jindal Stainless Boosts Manufacturing With JFE
Jindal Stainless has entered into a Technical Assistance Agreement with Japan-based JFE Steel Corporation to strengthen its manufacturing capabilities for selected ferritic stainless steel grades.
Under the agreement, JFE Steel will provide technical support to Jindal Stainless to improve product quality, manufacturing practices and process efficiency. The partnership comes as demand for stainless steel continues to grow across sectors such as automobiles, infrastructure, railways, industrial machinery and construction.
Ferritic stainless steel is gaining importance because of its durability, corrosion resistance and cost efficiency. These grades are widely used in automotive components, railway coaches, kitchen equipment, construction and various industrial applications.
The collaboration is expected to help Jindal Stainless adopt global manufacturing expertise and strengthen its product quality and operational capabilities. The company said the partnership will also support its efforts to build advanced manufacturing capabilities and create greater value for customers.
