5 reasons why Indian share markets are Rising:
#1 Strong FII Buying
Foreign institutional investors (FIIs) purchased Indian equities worth Rs 14,974.68 crore on Thursday, marking their biggest single-day investment since February 24, 2021. Lower crude oil prices, strong corporate earnings and a shift away from AI-linked stocks in global markets have made Indian equities more attractive to foreign investors.
#2 Fall in Crude Oil Prices
Brent crude prices are heading for their biggest weekly decline since April 2020, despite recovering slightly today. Brent crude futures rose 1% to USD 99.27 per barrel, while WTI crude gained 0.9% to USD 91.29 per barrel.
#3 Buying in IT Stocks
Shares of Indian IT companies, including Infosys, TCS and Wipro, gained up to 3%, supporting the domestic market. Indian IT stocks are attracting buying interest as investors see potential opportunities amid concerns over the impact of AI on global technology companies.
#4 Decline in US Bond Yields
The yield on the US 10-year Treasury note fell to 4.83%, close to a two-month low, marking a decline of nearly 48 basis points from its October peak of 5.31%. The fall reflects growing investor preference for safer assets amid weakness in US technology stocks and uncertainty surrounding investments in AI and data centres.
#5 Buying in Banking Stocks
Banking stocks also supported the domestic market, with the banking index rising more than 1%. HDFC Bank emerged as one of the top gainers, contributing to the positive market sentiment.
Gold prices for the latest contract on MCX are trading 1.1% lower at Rs 1,42,490 per 10 grams.
Meanwhile, silver prices were trading 0.9% lower at 1,85,350 per 1 kg.
