Nykaa Partners OpenAI for AI Shopping
Shares of FSN E-Commerce Ventures Ltd, the parent company of Nykaa, came into focus fter the beauty and fashion retailer announced a multi-year partnership with OpenAI that will allow consumers to discover and shop Nykaa products directly through ChatGPT.
Under this collaboration, Nykaa's Beauty and Fashion stores will be integrated directly into ChatGPT as connected apps. This means users in India will be able to browse Nykaa's full product range inside the chat itself. They can search for skincare, cosmetics, beauty, and fashion products and get recommendations without leaving ChatGPT or opening the Nykaa app or website.
The integration is powered by OpenAI's Agentic Commerce Protocol, which allows shopping features to work inside ChatGPT. The rollout will happen in phases over the coming years, though financial details of the deal were not shared.
Nykaa also plans to use OpenAI's Codex tool to help its engineering teams with coding and productivity.
This partnership builds on Nykaa's existing AI features like Skin Scan, Virtual Try-On, Ask Nykaa assistant, and Nykaa Muse recommendation system. The move is part of OpenAI's broader push to bring more shopping experiences into ChatGPT through partnerships with global retailers.
