Fino Payments Bank Q2 FY27 Results

Shares of Fino Payments Bank came into focus after the company reported its Q2 FY27 results.

Fino Payments Bank reported a net loss of Rs 209 million (m) in the July-September quarter of FY27, as profitability was impacted by margin compression and higher depreciation following the migration of its core banking system.

Revenue increased 9% sequentially to Rs 3,336 m, while EBITDA declined 19% to Rs 351 m.

Commenting on the performance, Anup Agarwal, Interim Chief Financial Officer of Fino Payments Bank, said that despite sequential revenue growth, profitability was affected by margin compression and higher depreciation costs following the core banking migration. As the bank prepares for its transition into a small finance bank (SFB), it is focusing on strengthening its business operations. Ketan Merchant, Interim Chief Executive Officer, said the bank is currently in a consolidation phase, with efforts directed towards strengthening its core retail business and reviving growth in its business-to-business (B2B) segment.

As part of its SFB preparations, Fino has appointed senior leadership across branch banking, liabilities, micro, small and medium enterprises (MSMEs), and credit risk. The bank is also investing in technology, infrastructure and operational capabilities to support its next phase.
