Sensex Today Ends 118 Points Higher; Nifty Above 23,650

Although the benchmark indices opened lower, they traded positively throughout the session and ultimately closed green.

Indian equity benchmarks, Sensex and Nifty50, ended higher, tracking gains in auto, oil, and gas stocks.

At the closing bell, the BSE Sensex  closed 118 points higher (up 0.1%)

Meanwhile, the NSE Nifty closed 41 points higher (up 0.1%)

Bajaj Finance, NTPC, and Axis Bank were the top gainers today.

Bharat Elec, Tech Mahindra, and Tata Steel, on the other hand, were among the top losers today.

The GIFT Nifty was trading at 23,665, with 100 points higher at the time of writing.

The BSE 150 Midcap index is trading 0.5% higher, and the BSE 250 SmallCap index is trading 0.1% higher.

Sectoral indices were trading mixed today, with stocks in the FMCG sector and the IT sector witnessing selling pressure. Meanwhile, stocks in the power sector and the oil & gas sector witness buying.

The rupee is trading at Rs 96.7 against the US$.

Gold prices for the latest contract on MCX are trading 0.1% lower at Rs 1,58,865 per 10 grams.

Meanwhile, silver prices were trading 0.9% lower at 2,72,564 per 1 kg.

Karnataka Bank Q4 FY26 Results

Shares of Karnataka Bank came into focus after the company reported its Q4 FY26 results.

For the January-March quarter of FY26 (Q4FY26), Karnataka Bank reported a net profit of Rs 4.08 billion (bn) compared with Rs 2.91 bn in Q3FY26, registering a growth of 40% quarter-on-quarter.

The lender's CASA deposits increased to Rs 365.60 bn in the March quarter from Rs 328.29 bn in the preceding quarter (Q3). The CASA ratio stood at 33.61% as of March 31, 2026, compared with 31.53% as of December 31, 2025.

Gross advances stood at Rs 833.40 bn, reflecting a growth of 8% quarter-on-quarter, against Rs 772.83 bn at the end of the third quarter.

The bank also reported significant progress in its FY2026 financial performance, with aggregate business reaching an all-time high of Rs 1,921.19 bn. The lender posted a record annual net profit of Rs 13.11 bn for FY2025-26, compared with Rs 12.72 bn reported in FY2024-25.

Meanwhile, Karnataka Bank said its board has recommended a final dividend of Rs 5 per equity share for the financial year ended 2025-2026, subject to shareholder approval.

PI Industries Q4 FY26 Results

Shares of PI Industries came into focus after the company reported its Q4 FY26 results.

In the March 2026 quarter, PI Industries reported a consolidated net profit of Rs 2.0 bn, down 39.4% YoY from Rs 3.31 bn in the year-ago period. The company's revenue declined 12.4% to Rs 15.65 bn compared with Rs 17.87 bn a year earlier.

Its EBITDA dropped 26.1% to Rs 3.37 bn, while EBITDA margin contracted to 21.5% from 25.5% in the corresponding quarter last year.

Additionally, the company's board has recommended a final dividend of Rs 10 per share.

Within segments, PI Industries' agrochem exports declined 19% YoY, while volumes were down 14% due to a high base effect.

Godawari Power Q4 FY26 Results

Shares of Godawari Power came into focus after the company reported its Q4 FY26 results.

In the March 2026 quarter (Q4FY26), Godawari Power and Ispat reported a net profit of Rs 2.8 bn, up 26% YoY from Rs 2.22 bn in the corresponding quarter last year.

Revenue from operations rose 10% YoY to Rs 16.1 bn, compared with Rs 14.68 bn a year ago.

EBITDA increased 38% to Rs 4.39 bn from Rs 3.18 bn in the year-ago period, while EBITDA margin improved to 27% from 22%.

Meanwhile, the company's board declared a dividend of Rs 1 per share.
