Today I'm reviewing a large-cap Russian gold outfit. Its name is Public Joint Stock Company Polyus. Its trading ticker symbol is OPYGY.

PJSC Polyus extracts, refines and sells gold. It is also engaged in research, exploration and development. The development works are mainly at the Natalka license area located in the Magadan region of Russia.

It has primary operations in Krasnoyarsk, Irkutsk, and Magadan regions, as well as the Sakha Republic in Russia.

Public Joint Stock Company Polyus was founded in 2006 and is based in Moscow, Russia. It is a subsidiary of Polyus Gold International Limited.

I use three key data points to gauge the value of any dividend equity or fund like Public Joint Stock Company Polyus (OPYGY):

(1) Price

(2) Dividends

(3) Returns

Besides those three, four more keyswill finally unlock an equity or fund in which to invest.

But those first three primary keys, best tell whether a company has made, is making, and will make money.

OPYGY Price

Polyus's price per share was $34.73 at yesterday's market close. A year ago its price was $31.83 for a gain of $2.90 per share.

Assuming OPYGY's price will trade in the range of $30 to $50 again next year, its price could grow by that same $2.90 again from its current $34.73 to $37.63 by late July, 2019.

OPYGY Dividends

Polyus's most recent variable semi-annual dividend was $1.16 paid July 10th.

Based on this semi-annualamount, theannual take of $2.32 yields 6.7% at yesterday's $34.73 share price.

Gains For OPYGY?

Adding the $2.32 potential annual dividend to the $2.90 potential year over year price gain makes a $5.22 projected gross annual per share gain, which will be reduced by costs to trade the shares.

A little over $1,000.00 invested today at the $34.73 recent price buys 29 shares.

A $10 broker fee paid half at purchase and half at sale costs about $0.345 per share, subtracting that $0.345 brokerage cost from the estimated $5.22 gross gain leaves a net gain of $4.88 X 29 shares = $141.38 or a 14% net gain on a $1,007.17 investment.

Therefore, Public Joint Stock Company Polyus (whose ticker symbol is OPYGY), now shows a possible 14% net gain including a 6.7% dividend yield.

No analysts cover this stock:

So, thereisanalyst consensus recommendation or a median price target set by the brokers.

Even Y Charts has limited data. Y Charts has not yet rated OPYGY for an overall "Y" rating; it has "insufficient data" for a Value score but marks OPYGY "average" for a Fundamental mark yet has "insufficient data" for a Historic Valuation score.

You could look at all those numbers this way, Public Joint Stock Company Polyus (OPYGY) has made money, is making money, and could net a 14% net gain including a 6.7% annual dividend yield. It could be more, it could be far less annual dividend yield.

The above speculation is based on past year performance. Actual results remain to be seen. Results could turn out to be far higher or lower. More study is required for you to determine if Public Joint Stock Company Polyus (OPYGY) is worth your time and money.
