Despite recent excitement about clean-tech names, Pacific Gas & Electric Company (PCG) surfaces here as a stealth short setup — a reminder that even slow-moving utility stocks can sneak up with serious downside risk.

Pacific Gas & Electric (PCG) isn’t as sexy as, let’s say, a quantum computing company, but it presents an interesting short setup. For the uninitiated, PG&E is the utility company for much of the West Coast (except Palo Alto which, as you might guess, has provided itself its own utility named, cleverly, Palo Alto Utilities).
